Crafting climate resiliency through the preservation of structure and labour.

The design reclaims courtyards across the site, using a system of dykes to manage and mitigate flooding while respecting natural hydrology.

This sister pavilion to the new Hornby Island Arts Council extends into the landscape as a flexible space for performance, exhibition, and gathering. Built from surplus construction logs, it explores log connections and sustainable assembly while channelling the island’s artistic energy.

In collaboration with Parks Canada, this Free Lab explored a prefabricated pavilion for Sable Island—designed to be relocatable, wind-resistant, and logistically feasible. A mock build in Halifax ensured the design met the island’s extreme environmental and access conditions.

The Dalhousie Centre for Sustainability uses technology as a tool for optimization, while relying on educational archetypes to establish community.

This community center utilizes a transparent ground floor and a kingpost structural system to integrate and accommodate multiple programs.

x&y incorporates six residential units and is located on Block House Hill, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The facade looks to establish a material monument that is specific to its cultural context.

The roof has a three-stepped saw tooth roof, that follows the angle of the Edmontonian winter solstice. Underneath the sawtooth is linen, that has been draped throughout both the viewing area and the boot room.
