Exhibition

Extraction is an interactive installation where visitors move material from one site to another, contributing to the construction of a new built form. By tracing this journey from removal to assembly, the work invites participants to reflect on architecture’s role in resource use, the consequences of extraction, and their own complicity.

SHAPE/LIGHT/MATERIAL is an architectural installation located on the front lawn of the Dalhousie Architecture building - this project would be included in the 2024 Halifax Nocturn Art Festival. Each installment embodies its element of architecture, intending to immerse the user in a concentrated experience

Animation

The sculpture is a product of audio deterioration; starting with a control object and exposing it to audio waves, the result is an object that has experienced 30 seconds of audio and has lived to tell the tale. A model of the un-visual; this process looks to use audio as a tool to investigate form.

Analog to animation, the projects depicted here are given narrative through their extracted data. Starting with a tangible image, data is leveraged to tell a different story - there is compounded data in everything we design.

Combining MRI scans creates a 3d modeled brain. Through the values associated with the MRI scan density and colour can be investigated.

Depiction of the object within a landscape: These 35mm film photographs frame the object as the central subject in each composition. Taken across a range of landscapes and locations, the selected images focus on how the object asserts itself within its surrounding environment.

Depiction of the subject within a landscape: These 35mm film photographs are held close to my heart as they contain the subject being reflected alongside their landscape. Various countries, great people, all living.

A pattern observed over years of shooting film: Clouds hovering above oceans, lakes, and rivers begin to embody the unique character of each body of water. From the vantage point below, these clouds form a collection, each presenting itself differently, shaped by the landscape beneath.

The distant brink. Whether seen as a ridge, an edifice, or the next segment of a trail, this brink gestures toward the landscape as a defining edge. The ridgeline becomes a sample—a fragment that embodies the drama of the whole.
