Data Visualization

Analog to animation: Using 35mm film photographs as a starting point, the image becomes the driver of animation. Each photo is composed of pixels with specific values, and when arranged in their original form, they produce a recognizable scene. But what happens if those embedded values are rearranged?

These works explore that question, investigating how the data encoded within the photograph can be restructured to generate movement. In this way, the image animates itself. As humans, as designers, we embed layers of information into everything we create.
